Personal Background
As a third generation Capitol Hill resident., my grandparents arrived at Ellis Island from Italy in the early 1900s and migrated to Capitol Hill where my grandfather and his brother married two sisters and lived just four doors apart on the 300 block of D Street NE. My father was born in the 1930s and attended Carberry (now luxury condos), Stuart Junior High, and Eastern High School. My mother who lived in the 300 block of 9th Street SE, married my father in the early 50s, and soon thereafter I was born. My parents divorced when I was still a toddler and I was raised by my paternal grandmother and father. I graduated from Peabody Elementary School K-6, and completed my schooling in Maryland before returning to Capitol Hill in the mid-1970s. I now reside with my wife on the 300 block of A Street SE with our four "children" -- Icy, Mikey, Iceman and Ricky who are home schooled.

Professional Background
Within one year of graduation with degrees in Business Administration and Education, I was a real estate associate with a start-up firm on Capitol Hill in 1977 at 1321 Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The firm then merged, moved and had a couple of name changes before finally becoming Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage at 605 Pennsylvania Avenue SE in the late 1990's.
In 1984, I opened Burns & Williams Real Estate at 109 8th Street NE where we operated a very successful brokerage for 13 years; selling it to Coldwell Banker in 1997.
Throughout the years, I have shared my experience and expertise with the communities of Capitol Hill and real estate professionals. I volunteered my time on the following committees and associations among others: Ethics Committee at the Board of Realtors; Professional Standards Committee at the Board of Realtors; Capitol Hill Association of Merchants and Professionals; and Capitol Hill Restoration Society.
